Africa Justice Foundation

The AJF Board of Trustees supports the objectives of Abyssinia Law, namely to provide open access to Ethiopian consolidated laws to aid the administration of and access to justice, the knowledge and practice of law, and the development of jurisprudence, complemented by a collection of resources on the Ethiopian legal system such as professional blog entries, commentaries, policy documents, court decisions, and research papers so that practicing lawyers, students, academics and members of the public can access the information they require. These align with the charity’s core objectives: to promote the law's sound administration and development and educate the public about the law, its development, and administration. Equally, the above complements AJF’s mission to contribute to developing robust, stable, and predictable legal systems that meet the needs of citizens and the globally competitive business environment.

African Legal Information Institute 

The African Legal Information Institute (AfricanLII) is a project of the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit (DGRU) at the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, and University of Cape Town. It was incubated at the Southern Africa Litigation Center (SALC).

AfricanLII's main goal is to promote Free Access to Law and Open Justice in Africa.

Subsidiary goals in support of this main goal are to:

• Identify potential new Legal Information Institutes in Africa;
• Assist and support new and existing Legal Information Institutes in Africa;
• Provide a centralized source of pan-African primary and secondary legal material;
• Provide legal information on regional and continental legal institutions;
• Coordinate and support a collaborative resource pool for LIIs across Africa.

AfricaLII works with partners in Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Seychelles, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
